A little about me
I’ll get straight to the point.
I’m passionate about helping people to live their best life.
Growing up as a big sister to three siblings and as part of a BIG family, I think it’s always been my path. But it took me a while to realise it…
I earned my stripes in the corporate world, with over ten years experience in the public relations and marketing industry. I became a dab-hand at researching and developing brand strategies, managing reputations, securing column inches in consumer press, managing high-profile events but, the further I progressed, the more I realised that my heart was really in the ‘people’ bit of my job. Coaching, mentoring and developing the teams I worked with ‘lit me up’ and I knew I’d found my inner spark.
I formalised all the knowledge and experience I had in coaching with practitioner certifications, made a career shift into a development function in the workplace, and finally became certified as an NLP practitioner.
I also got to grips with what I really didn’t like
Every fibre of me rebelled at the messages I was being given. Choose a career OR politely step out of the corporate race to have a family. You can get promoted IF you change your personality a little bit here and here. Leaving work on time? You can’t have a balanced lifestyle AND be seen to be serious about your job. There is far too much talk of compromise and trade-off for my liking. It’s not want I want for my mum and my sister, not what I want for my friends, certainly not what I want for me – and it’s not what I want for YOU.
So, to put it simply, in my bag of tricks I have the professional knowledge and experience to help you, combined with a big helping of my own personal experience of ‘being there’ and coming out the other side, and can be that encouraging ‘cheerleader’ on the sidelines to support and, every now and again, challenge you… It’s the big sister in me!
